Deskrawl: Idle ARPG

Keep a run going at the bottom of your desktop.

Deskrawl combat strip along the bottom of a Windows desktop

Deskrawl: Idle ARPG is a Windows desktop-companion loot crawler from First Day Games, published with Gamersky Games. Combat, pickup, and cart drop-off keep running in a strip along the bottom of the desktop while other apps stay in front. The full game shipped on Steam on 28 September 2026 at a US list price of $6.99, cut to $4.89 (30%) for launch week. Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit as the only platform, thirteen interface and subtitle languages, and no full audio track. The live product is built around four Inferno pinnacle classes, captured minions, town NPC unlocks, and Steam Market trading of equipment, materials, and minions. Open Desktop idle if you want the window and Life Skills loop, Heroes if you are picking a class, or Achievements if you want the 37-seal board.

Deskrawl at a glance

  • Park the window at the bottom of the desktop, on a second monitor, or under a browser, and let combat, pickup, and the loot cart keep running in that strip while other apps stay in front.
  • Loot beams and damage numbers sit in the lower band; they are evidence of the loop, not chrome rebuilt in CSS. Patch 0.1.9 is the first numbered note that makes that layout official, and 0.1.13f later fixed ultrawide cropping if your strip sits on a wide display.
  • Keep the Steam process running. Closing Steam ends the idle strip even if the rest of Windows stays open.
  • Any enemy, including bosses, can be captured as a minion. A Rein unlocks that minion so it can haul the loot cart and help in combat.
  • Town progression spends resources to open NPCs and services. Steam Market trading lists equipment, materials, and minions.
  • The live Steam board has 37 achievements, and Inferno is the named pinnacle difficulty on the four class seals. Twelve equipment slots and a +10 upgrade cap are the loot ceilings printed on those seals and in 0.1.13.

Studio, support, and official channels

  • First Day Games describes itself as a two-person studio making its second game. Steam lists First Day Games and Gamersky Games as publishers.
  • Product support mail is admin@firstdayentertainment.net. Steam also publishes a Discord invite at discord.gg/vq6HQXVeQ8, a QQ invite, and the @deskrawl YouTube channel.
  • TikTok and X exist as extra social handles; they are not a replacement for Steam news. Ban appeals after an Online Mode lock sit on deskrawl.com, not in Discord DMs.
  • deskrawl.com currently hosts an Online Mode ban-appeal form rather than a marketing homepage. Steam’s website field on the app record is empty.
  • Searches for official Instagram, Facebook, Bilibili, and Weibo accounts did not confirm a first-party page. Use the Steam news hub for store news and the community achievements board for unlock text.
  • Localized Steam titles exist for Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese; other wiki languages keep the English product name because Steam does too.

Launch week on Steam

  • Windows Steam launch: 28 September 2026. US list price $6.99, launch discount $4.89 (30%). Minimum OS: Windows 10 64-bit.
  • Official launch trailer sits on the @deskrawl YouTube channel. A launch-day hotfix defaulted new characters to Online Mode and patched Steam connection failures on very old Steam clients, while still recommending a Steam client update.
  • Local clocks posted three days earlier listed Los Angeles 5:00 AM PDT and London 1:00 PM BST among others. Launch-week Steam reviews sat at Mostly Positive.
  • Japanese press at AUTOMATON covered the local title デスクロール:放置ARPG and a concurrent-player spike.
  • The $1.99 Supporter Pack is a separate app with a storage page and two legendary cosmetics; it is not required to open the 37-achievement board.
  • If you are buying on the launch discount, read the hotfix and the Desktop idle page before you assume an offline character is still the default.
